Singapore has officially rolled out its ambitious “Healthier SG” initiative in 2025, with the government committing a staggering S$2.4 billion towards preventive healthcare over the next three years. The programme marks a significant pivot from a reactive healthcare model to one that focuses on long-term wellness, aiming to improve quality of life while reducing national healthcare costs.
Free Screenings and Vaccinations for All
Under the Healthier SG scheme, all eligible Singapore citizens can now receive free screenings for chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol at participating general practitioner clinics. In addition, adult vaccinations such as flu and pneumococcal shots will also be fully subsidised, making early intervention and disease prevention more accessible than ever.
Subsidies for Follow-Up Treatments

Beyond initial screenings, Healthier SG also offers generous subsidies on follow-up consultations and treatments. Chronic patients who commit to regular check-ins with their family doctors can expect to pay significantly less boosting affordability and encouraging long-term care relationships with healthcare providers.
Personalized Health Plans Through the App
A new digital platform integrated into the HealthHub app helps participants build and track personalized health plans. From managing fitness goals to medication reminders and diet recommendations, the technology aims to empower citizens to take charge of their health with ease and accountability.
Focused on Seniors and Vulnerable Groups
Special attention is being given to seniors and lower-income groups under this initiative. Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) cardholders receive additional support, and there are targeted outreach campaigns in place to ensure that older citizens fully understand and benefit from the new scheme. With such a robust national effort in place, Healthier SG is set to revolutionize how the nation approaches well-being, shifting from treatment to true prevention.
